I have medium to small size dogs. The medium dogs inhale small bites food without pausing to breathe, much less chew. Are the Blue Buffalo Adult dry food kibble pieces small enough to be easily chewed by an 8 to 10 lb dog?
- Blue Buffalo has a variety of dry food choices including one specially for small dogs. My sister has a chihuahua and a dash hound and that’s the kind she buys. On the other hand, I have a Siberian Husky and I feed her the Adult option.

I fed my jack Russell blue buffalo “life protection” for the 17 years I owned her. I’ve continued it with Kalei, and don’t plan to change brands unless you advise different. I have a basset hound 1 year old and an 8 month old lab. we free feed, iams Lamb with brown rice formula, but these two act like they are starving but I go through 40 pounds of food every 11 days. I am already giving her the Blue Buffalo Life Protection puppy large breed food. Would you recommend me to change it for her? Bought purina one lamb and rice. Concerned on an ingredient. Chicken by product meal? Was taught bad for dogs and can be diesed animals. Mixing with 80 to 20 ratio of food the 80 percent is pure Balance trout and lentils grain free. But some of you say grains are good and they don’t have an allegry as they eat grained dog treats and Cheerios with no problems. Plus this food had real meat chucks and wanted to train them to eat dry food only. Thanks!
