I got this a few weeks ago and totally forgot all about it until today. I pulled it out to walk my 30 lb dog and my 10 lb dog this morning and it was terrific. It was easy to use and great for walking both of them with one leash. They didnt get tangled the way they did with two leashes. I wish i had gotten this sooner.

Ok unless you live by the beach. Second one Ive gotten that locks up and wont open or close after being exposed to sea water or sand.

@ dogs for one walk

nice little gadget for walking 2 dogs at the same time. The one I ordered is for smaller dogs, I guess I didn't pay attention to the size and length or if the size and length was even listed, so it really is not going to work for my 2 big dogs. But it would be perfect for little bitty dogs.

Needed help when traveling with a pair of eight pound dogs. This add-on at the end of one leash kept the dogs close together when I walked out of the airport onto a busy sidewalk. I had one dog carrier on my back. I was rolling a second dog carrier and had one hand available for one leash. My partner was waiting to retrieve our checked bags. The leash splitter worked very well. Relieved some anxiety and took up less space than an additional leash. The dogs and I practiced using the splitter twice before the trip. Took them a little bit of getting used to. It was a great purchase for me.

I bought this to walk two of my dogs on one leash. It was always hard walking them and they both go in different directions. This definitely helped. If one dog still tugs more expect the other dog to be pulled though.

The gals at Petco were SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL! I am disabled and they helped control my 3 little pups while assisting me with finding leashes. They changed course and brought this one over…what a difference while walking all 3 of them. I bought 2 and they helped me configure it to work with all 3. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PETCO!

What is the pull strength? I walk two pit-bulls, and although they only way about 60 its. each, they have a tremendous pull strength, I had a lease very similar to this one and they pulled it apart.

    They won't be able to pull it apart, but they will stretch it to its maximum length, about 6', and it will lose it's elasticity. It's a good leash, I had to buy two so I can use the leashes for my two dogs. It only comes with one leash and they don't sell matching leashes individually. Hope this helps

What is the shortest and longest possible length for each side?

    Petmate does offer some "leather" leashes but the "take two" is not one of them.

Would the dual dog leash adaptor work for 2 different sized dogs? I have a 12 pound Pomeranian and an 85 pound German Shepherd.

    Yes! The hook on the adapter is large, so make sure it will fit through the ring on your smaller dog's collar or harness. You can adjust the length of a single side of the adapter without of affecting the length of the other. I walk my 77lb German Shepherd and my 10lb Pug puppy together now because of this adapter.
