Nice and solid and handle attachment was easy but despite being same brand, if the plastic spacer that you cut out for the filter is on it, the lid does not fit precisely and sits up on the lip of the tank a little. Not enough to return it but slightly less pathetic. The plastic spacer is also pretty difficult to cut which makes it hard to get it just right for filter and cords.

Had to order this top online because website said no stock in store, even for a big sale. Arrived shattered. Packing was a joke and evidentally happens VERY FREQUENTLY. Easy return to the store where, once there, they DID have some in stock.

Needed a new lid for my 40 breeder. Other lid was so thin and the hinge finally gave out. But I was always afraid of cats getting on it and it breaking. The hinge is sturdy, the glass is thick. Fits great as I have canister filter so there is enough space in back for the lines, cut the plastic end piece to go around them.

It doesn't fit the dimensions on the box say 36x18 the product itself was only 35x18 I had to rig it up to use the lid on my fish tank.

No, the glass top measurements are 17 1/8 x 35“. Thus if the depth of your tank is 14 7/8 inches, it will not fit.

It is 18” with the plastic strip, it reserves space in the event you want to use a hang on back filter, and the plastic strip can be removed.

Sure. The hinge and spacers are easily modified by design. The glass panels are just glass panels.

Yes it will fit. Mine is the same size (40 gallon breeder) and it fits great. There is a plastic piece that you can cut to fit a filter, air hoses, etc.

I have an old aquarium from before WWII, it is 18" x 32 .5" . Is your lid tempered glass or standard glass that can be trimmed at a glass shop? Can you recommend supports that will hold it? There is no rim on the aquarium.

I believe it's tempered glass. I would try talking with a local fish store to see if they can help you out, or try working with a local glass shop to have them make you what you want. Best of luck to you!
