This is my second 55-gallon tank to fail. The first, the silicone failed, causing a slow leak, which damaged my hardwood floor before I noticed this was happening. I thought the water was evaporating. I purchased another one about a year ago, and this one, the bar that runs across the top in the middle, the plastic is failing, causing the glass to bow out. I now have a clamp on it to prevent the glass from breaking from the pressure of the water. When I went to Petco, they said it has a 90-day warranty. This is obviously a manufacturing defect, and I have seen another post with the same problem. This is very frustrating as I now have to purchase another tank, NOT Aqueon, and transfer my fish before the whole tank fails and dumps 55 gallons of water on my floor.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I JUST PURCHASED A SUPPOSED TO BE 55 GALLON AQUEON FISH TANK WHEN I GET HONE AND MEASURE IT, IT COMES OUT TO BE A 52 GALLON.. I will be contacting them early tomorrow morning.! PLEASE MEASURE YOUR TANK PPL BEFORE BUYING!!!

We bought this 1/19/25. We are a new small business slowly expanding our tanks to breed tropical fish. This is the 1st Aqueon tank he has bought vs other brands. When he went to drill out an overflow, which he has done many times, tank shattered. Unknown to him the tank was tempered glass, no warning label.

Watching TV and heard something, the tank cracked and water was coming out of it. I’m glad we were there so we could take care of this. Have only had the tank for about a month or so

After a year of building a gorgeous environment, I came home to a drained tank and dead fish. They suffocated to death as their water disappeared onto my floor. A few plecos and corys were still gasping for air and saved. All of my tetras and apistogrammas are gone. Devastating.

Yo doy 5 de 5 so en dado caso si acuario tiene fuga se debe al mal manejo en la transportación o usted lo puso en un piso inclinado , siempre hay que poner el acuario con una base de goma para que el peso la distribución del peso sea igual en todo los lados ,,hay dejo foto de lo que debe hacer

This will make the third 55 gallaon Aqueon that has had a frame / center brace failure. You can push in the front of the glass and watch the tank move like an accordion. I have owned many fish tanks over the years. I have 180 gallon, eight foot long tank that is over 20 years old, made by GlassCages.com, still holding water perfectly . I have over 1000 gallons of fish tanks currently. I will not be buying any more Aqueon. I did not keep my receipt, because until these three Aqueon tanks I have have had a tank failure. Even if I did I am not going to pay to ship this tank to them.

Do not buy this product! We’ve had our 55 gallon tank for 1 year and tank just burst open and flooded our house. I’m literally writing this as I have flood mitigation company cleaning up the mess. Please don’t buy this tank, you’ve been warned.

You need a tank topper vs a lid. Your turtle needs to be able to exit the water and dry off completely to bask. They sell them pre-made, however i built my own because they don't fit the larger tanks in my experience.

I was looking to buy this tank and no hood at all whatsoever. So, I went to the store and ask them why is it online with the photo with the hood and you don't get one when you buy it? he told me see it says no light. so is the light the hood?
