Is it harmful to humans
- It depends on how you take it. This is in pill form only. I would not suggest consuming it through the nose, eyes, ear canals or anally. Oral side effects include, but are not limited to, the chasing of cars, circulated tail biting, heavy panting and loudly coughing at the living room window.

does Petco in Gig Harbor Wa carry apaquel 16 mg 45 count if so cost please
- I'm a dog owner that Petco ask to answer a question about Apoquel 16mg. it woks great on a dog that has skin that always itches. It worked from the very first pill. I paid about $105.00 for a 30 day supply from the Vet and $60.00 from Petco for a 30 day supply.

My dog just got on this medicine for allergies but I wanted to know if this medication cause drowsiness?
- Apoquel does not cause any drowsiness. My lab had severe allergies and nothing I tried ever helped, until i found Apoquel. It's a wonder drug and worth the cost.

Is this a daily tablet?
- I think it depends on your dog and the dog's problem. My dog (Maggie) takes 1\2 pill in the morning then another 12 hours later with her benadryl. The next I give 1\2 with benadryl(I give her benadryl regardless of the Apoquel). Then back to 1\2 pill 2 times a day. I rotate her pills trying to save money. But at the same time making sure she isn't itchy.

My dog is currently on Apoquel 5.4 mg once per day. He is 25 lbs. Lately, that hasn't been lasting a full 24 hrs so his vet said that I could give him one 5.4 in the a.m. and then another 5.4 in the p.m. for two weeks and then back down to one pill again. The other choice was to give one 5.4 and a half of a 3.6 at once in the morning, which the vet advised not do that option since 5.4 and 1/2 of the 3.6 is a lot of Apoquel at once. But, isn't 5.4 twice per day a lot, too? I'm confused.
Both of my dogs were prescribed Apoquel for allergic dermatitis & chronic itching. It has been very successful, but at a cost of $2.23 per tablet it's very expensive. One of my dogs had chronic ear infections requiring 2 separate ear surgeries (ear flap hematoma & myringotomy). Since starting Apoquel NO ear infections. Are there any resources for lower cost of this medication? Your comments on long term use of Apoquel would be appreciated.
I have a 14ib dog with skin allergies. Ive had 2 consults and both vets suggest this apoquel medication. THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THE STRENGTH FOR A 14LB DOG. What strength would you suggest?

My dog has been on Apoquel 16 mg once a day for 2 years for allergies. She is really itchy and her eyes are runny about 12 hours after taking the pill. I would like to give her Zyrtec before bed to get her through the night. Will this interact with the Apoquel? She weighs 80 lbs. How much should she take? 5mg or 10 mg?
He has horrible grass allergies, to the point that his paws and chest bleed every summer, even with using a mild oatmeal shampoo to wash off paws when he comes in the house. Keeping him IN the house. Using a hot spot and itch relief and Benedryl. Apoquel works great for him, but I can not afford 2.00 per pill for him. Any other suggestions? Constant allergies and ear infections. Apoquel works well but told not a good idea to take long term. Any safer alternatives out there? Any OTC shampoos I can try? Does not tolerate fish/oil... does best on LID duck and potato food.

Hi lily has an eye ulcer so her prednicare has to be stopped whilst it heals to stop her itching my vet has given me a few days of apoquel to tide her over as apoquel only works on her briefly then just doesn't The vet instructions on the box says 1 a day but I thought when they first start it its a loading dose of 2 a day Even though she will only be on it a few days will 1 a day still be adequate ?
